François Maurer

(FR) François Maurer travaille à l’office fédéral de la communication OFCOM depuis avril 1992. Il y dirige la section « numérotation et adressage » depuis sa création en 1998. Il conseille le directeur de l’OFCOM en matière de politique de numérotation et d’adressage dans le domaine des télécommunications. Sa section gère notamment les ressources d’adressage à disposition de la Suisse. Elle est également chargée des questions techniques de réglementation concernant la signature électronique et l’interconnexion des annuaires électroniques. Les noms de domaines Internet du ccTLD .ch sont considérés comme étant des ressources d’adressage au sens de la loi suisse sur les télécommunications. François représente la Suisse notamment au GAC, dans le secteur de la normalisation de l’UIT (UIT-T) ainsi que dans le groupe de travail Numbering, Naming & Addressing de la CEPT/ECC. Avant son entrée à l’OFCOM il travaillait dans le secteur de la recherche et du développement d’une grande entreprise de télécommunications.

(EN) François Maurer has been working at the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM) since April 1992. He heads the 'Numbering and Addressing' section since its setup in 1998. He also advises the OFCOM Director on numbering and addressing policies in the telecommunications sector. His section is mainly concerned with the mangement of addressing resources in Switzerland, as well as the technical and legal matters deriving from electronic signatures and interconnexion among electronic directories. Internet domain names and the .ch ccTLD are also considered part of the addressing resources according to the Swiss law on telecommunications. François reperesents Switzerland in the GAC, the ITU-T sector as well as in the Working Group on Numbering, Naming and Addressing of CEPT/ECC. Before he joined OFCOM he worked in the Research and Development department of a large telecommunications company.
